Put It Back to Work
Support real-world research, exploration, and education by placing your vessel or vehicle directly into active service.
Most vessel and vehicle donation programmes are built around resale.
Expedition Audacity Research Foundation is different.
We are an active field organisation. Donated vessels and vehicles are assessed for direct operational use across research, education, documentation, logistics, and expedition support.
They do not sit in auction pipelines.
They do not disappear into a resale process.
They go to work.
Because direct use can create more value than liquidation.
Your vessel or vehicle remains operational.
It becomes part of ongoing research, expedition logistics, education programmes, and field documentation efforts.
This is not an end-of-life decision.
It is a redeployment.
Donation structures vary depending on jurisdiction, but there is an important distinction:
When assets are donated to organisations that sell them, deductions are typically limited to the sale value.
When donated to an active registered charity for direct operational use, donors may be eligible to claim fair market value (subject to applicable tax authority guidelines and independent appraisal).
We work with donors and their advisors to ensure the structure is handled properly and transparently.
We are not incentivised to liquidate assets.
Each vessel or vehicle is assessed based on how it can be used within our operations—not how quickly it can be sold.
Many vessels and vehicles carry history.
For some owners, ensuring that asset continues to operate—with purpose—matters more than watching it disappear into the resale market.
Research often begins long before a vessel leaves the dock.

Remote coastlines, inland waterways, community sites, field stations, launch points, and equipment staging areas all require reliable transport.
Vehicles are not secondary to the mission.
In many cases, they are what make the mission possible.
Vehicles for work across land, water, and remote regions.

Some assets enter service immediately. Others become part of refit and redevelopment programmes. Where appropriate, assets may also be transferred to other registered charities and 501(c)(3) organisations, in accordance with applicable regulations, to ensure they are placed into active service.
Integrated platforms, not isolated donations.
A vehicle carries crew, equipment, fuel, cameras, sensors, or sampling gear to a remote launch point.
A small boat or tender supports nearshore access.
A larger vessel provides endurance, safety, accommodation, and offshore reach.
Together, these platforms allow researchers, educators, filmmakers, and field teams to operate where normal access is limited.
Remove one piece, and the work often stops.
Vehicles move people and gear.
Small craft bridge the gap.
Larger vessels support longer missions.
Field access is often the gap between an idea & useful work.

Donors can give through their preferred jurisdiction.
Expedition Audacity Research Foundation operates with charitable registration options in multiple jurisdictions.
This allows donors to explore giving through the structure most appropriate to their country, tax position, and professional advice.
We do not provide tax advice, but we do work with donors and their advisors to ensure the donation process is properly documented.

1. Initial Conversation
We discuss the vessel, vehicle, or asset, its condition, location, history, and potential use.
2. Operational Review
We assess whether it fits current or future field needs.
3. Documentation and Appraisal
Where required, independent appraisal and supporting documents are prepared.
4. Donation Structure
We coordinate with the donor and their professional advisors to align with the relevant jurisdiction.
5. Transfer and Integration
Once accepted, the asset is transferred and prepared for active use.

We are an operational research and education organisation.
Support for the Foundation does not confer influence over research findings, programme priorities, expedition decisions, or editorial outcomes.
That independence matters.
It protects the credibility of the work, the researchers we support, and the communities we engage with.

If you are considering the future of a vessel, vehicle, trailer, mobile platform, or field-support asset, there may be a way for it to continue doing what it was built to do.
Not sitting idle.
Not being stripped for parts.
Not disappearing into resale.
Working.
Start the conversation.
Please include the asset type, location, condition, registration details where available, and any relevant photos or survey information.
