The Research Vessel Fund

Securing the Platform That Makes the Mission Possible

2026 — The Year We Scale What Matters

Help Secure the Vessel That Carries This Mission Forward

In 2026, the Expedition Audacity Research Foundation takes the most consequential step in its history:

acquiring and refitting a dedicated expedition vessel of our own.

Until now, our work has taken place on borrowed decks and chartered ships — platforms never designed for frontline science, Indigenous partnership, or environmental accountability. In 2025, when our charter vessel was attacked while documenting illegal fishing, insurers withdrew coverage for investigative operations entirely.

That ended our reliance on charter vessels.
It did not end our mission.

2026 is the year we build permanent, independent capacity — to operate safely, responsibly, and without compromise in the places that matter most.

Why a Dedicated Vessel Is Essential

Our work takes us to remote coastlines, Indigenous waters, fragile ecosystems, and regions where environmental harm occurs far from public oversight. These missions require a vessel that is:

  • structurally robust and safety-focused
  • capable of long-range, multi-mission operations
  • able to support scientists, media teams, and Indigenous partners together
  • independent of commercial and insurance constraints
  • ready to respond when crises emerge

A dedicated vessel is not a luxury.
It is the backbone of everything we do — research, documentation, education, and justice.

The Goal: $800,000 to Purchase & Refit

This funding secures and prepares a vessel capable of carrying the mission through the next decade.

Support enables:

  • hull and safety upgrades
  • navigation and communications systems
  • research and sampling capability
  • emergency and survival equipment
  • inspection, compliance, and refit work
  • delivery and commissioning

This is infrastructure — not overhead.
It determines whether work can happen at all.

Why 2026 Is the Turning Point

After years of field testing, partnership building, and frontline response, 2026 marks the shift from possibility to capability.

With a vessel of our own, we can:

  • run Indigenous-led expeditions across the Americas and Arctic
  • expand deep-sea and coastal research programmes
  • investigate illegal fishing, pollution, and ecosystem damage
  • reach communities isolated by geography
  • produce evidence that informs public understanding and policy
  • train youth in real-world science and storytelling
  • operate safely, freely, and without external limitation

This ship is more than steel.
It is a platform for truth, protection, and continuity.

How Your Support Makes It Possible

Every contribution strengthens the vessel and the mission it carries.

  • $50 supports fuel and logistics
  • $100–$500 equips safety and navigation systems
  • $1,000+ advances research and operational upgrades
  • Major gifts enable structural work and full refit phases

Each gift builds capacity — deliberately, responsibly, and for the long term.

Small ripples. Big waves.

A Vessel With Purpose

This ship will not host luxury tourism.
It will carry:

  • environmental scientists
  • Indigenous researchers
  • youth fellows
  • documentary teams
  • community partners
  • evidence-gatherers and truth-tellers

It will operate where oversight is weakest and accountability matters most.

Your support builds the only kind of vessel worth building —
one designed to defend the planet we all share.

Join Us

If you believe in courage, evidence, and action, we invite you to help secure the vessel that makes this mission durable and independent.

Be the ripple.
Help change the tide.

With gratitude and resolve,
Captain Red

You help ensure danger never stops the mission again.
